Rhodobacter capsulatus,a purple nonsulfur photosynthetic bacterium, growing
photoheterotrophically with acetone as the source of carbon. The custom
50 liter culture vessel, with illumination from halogen lights placed within
the culture via water-jacketed tubes, was constructed by Jim Young in the
USU Chemistry Glass Shop. |
