If you are a prospective graduate student, I hope that you are considering (or have chosen) Utah State University for your studies and that you will find the research projects in my laboratory interesting. Members of our lab group gain experience in a range of research areas, tailored in part to their own interests, that include enzymology, protein purification and characterization, bacterial metabolism, molecular genetics, bioremediation, and biocatalysis. Students trained in our laboratory are highly competitive for positions in the biochemical, pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries, as well as university research and teaching careers. We pride ourselves on the closeknit and productive working environment of the lab. These pages are intended to introduce you to the Ensign lab group and research interests. Do not hesitate to call or write if you have questions.
