Applying for graduate program

All applicants must submit the following materials to be considered for admission:

• Official transcripts and degree certificates from all institutions attended.
• Three letters of recommendations.
• GRE (general exam) official test scores. Minimum scores of the 40th percentile (470 for the verbal section and 530 for the quantitative section) are required by the School of Graduate Studies.

In addition, international students from non-English speaking countries must also submit:

• TOEFL official test scores (paper/computer/internet based test: 570/230/89 minimum required).
• IELTS (score 6.0 minimum required)

Due to the nature of graduate course sequences, it is highly recommended that students enter the graduate program in the Fall semester. Although there are no application deadlines, submission of all application materials (including transcript, GRE score, three letters of recommendation, and TOEFL/IELTS scores for foreign applicants) by April 15th is strongly encouraged. Once completed, applicant files will be reviewed by the Graduate Admissions Committee and a written notification of acceptance status will be sent within two weeks. For consideration in the Willard L. Eccles Foundation Science Fellowship competition, applications should be completed by February 15.
