Philip J. Silva, Personal interests:

When not working, I spend time at home with my wife Wendy, our son Zachary James (born Valentine's day this year!), and our six pets.  Wendy and I decided to just do everything at once by getting married right before the move to Logan.  So 2002 was a busy summer for us!  First we flew from Massachusetts to Hawaii (with a stopover in California to visit my family.)  We got married July 17th in Hawaii and spent our honeymoon there as well!

Wendy is currently attending USU for a degree in Elementary Education and works part-time at Truman Mortgage here in Logan.

We bought a house in Logan where we are living pretty close to USU.  As I said we have 6 pets--two dogs and four cats.

Roxy was my dog in graduate school at UC Riverside.  When I moved to Massachusetts, I couldn't find affordable pet friendly housing there. :(  So she went to live with a friend of mine in Idaho.  Now she's with us in Utah and happy to have a big yard to run around in, though adjusting to living with cats!  Roxy is a 7 year old Whippet-Shepherd mix and loves to run around.

Ginger was one of Wendy's cats who made the move from Massachusetts to Utah.  Ginger likes to get in one's lap and cuddle a lot.  She generally is the calmest of the cats, although she has had a lot of adjusting to do over the last several months with the move and then the dog in the house.  She is 8 years old, and she loves corn chips.

Sassy also made the move from New England.  She is Ginger's sister as they both came from the same litter.  Sassy is the most vocal of the kitties, often meowing to be let out various doors, even though she's always been an indoor cat.  She has adopted the basement of the new house as her own, as well as many of the dog items that were brought down from Idaho with Roxy.

Java also made the move from the East, though she was a relatively new kitty obtained shortly before we moved.  She is approaching her 1st birthday.  She still thinks she's a kitten running around the house.  She is also the troublemaker of the house, especially when scratching things.  She has several un-catlike traits, especially that she loves water and getting wet.

Milo is about a year old.  We adopted him last October from Four Paws Adoptions , located here in the Cache Valley.  Being that he's still a pretty young, Milo's favorite thing is to chew on things that he's not supposed to.  He also likes to steal the other pets' food and play ball in the house.

Cocoa is the newest member of our household.  Cocoa is also about a year old and also came from Four Paws Adoptions .  He was rescued from a shelter in Ogden.  He's a Siamese, very vocal, and he and Milo like to wrestle a lot in the house.

Wendy and I attend the Cache Valley Bible Fellowship , a member of the Evangelical Free Church of America .
